Katie Boren is currently dancing professionally with the American Ballet Theater in New York City. Katie, who was born in Dallas, Texas, has now performed in theater stages all around the world.
Katie sat down with Matteo Franceschetti, co-founder and CEO of Eight Sleep, to talk sleep, dreams, and what's keeping her up at night.
I usually wake up on the earlier side. I have a kombucha and do a quick ab/mat series before having breakfast. Then I start to prepare for my rehearsal day ahead.
Stand up for yourself and understand your value.
A dream of mine is to dance the role of Manon or Juliet. those are two of my favorite ballets.
I like to read before I go to bed. it really relaxes my mind and lets me drift away from my daily life and anxieties.
My passion for dance and the art form really drive me. There’s always room for improvement and growth. The challenges are never ending and every day is a chance to perform just a little better than the day before.
I’ve always had a hard time sleeping. it takes me ages to fall asleep and I wake up several times throughout the night. I have found that my sleep really has improved with the Eight Sleep Pod. I look forward to sleeping and to the recovery it will bring.
Massage, sauna, sun, and wine.
Total darkness. I usually sleep with an eye mask. Water on the nightstand. Lots of pillows.
So many things. right now it’s a to do list that seems to keep growing.
